How to Sell Rubble in Punch Walls To Escape: Grinder Steps & Payout
How to sell rubble in Punch Walls To Escape: take your rubble bag to the grinder's SELL area and trade it for in-game money for fist and tool upgrades.
Quick answer
Take the rubble you collected to the grinder — the station that buys rubble — and use the interact prompt in its SELL area. Selling converts your rubble into in-game money ($), which you spend in the shop on fist upgrades and tools.
- The grinder is where rubble from broken walls is sold
- One observed sale of a full 150-rubble bag paid $1.50
- The loop repeats: punch walls, collect rubble, sell, upgrade
How to sell your rubble
Selling is a short trip once you know where to go: the game's own description tells you to grab the rubble and sell it at the grinder, and the new-player tutorial sends you there with your first bag.
- Collect the rubble from broken walls. After you punch through a wall, aim at the rubble pieces and pick them up — the tutorial shows "AIM AT RUBBLE AND PRESS RT" on controller, and a bag counter fills as you grab pieces, up to 150 in the tutorial.
- Take your bag to the grinder. The grinder is the station that buys the rubble you collect from broken walls.
- Use the prompt in the grinder's SELL area. In the recorded tutorial, the area at the grinder is labeled SELL and shows a "PRESS Y TO OPEN" prompt. RT and Y are controller prompts, so keyboard and mobile players should look for the same SELL area and use their own interact control there.
- Confirm the sale. Your bag empties back to 0/150 and a sale message appears, such as "Sold 150 rubble for $1.50!"

What selling rubble gives you
Selling rubble pays in-game money, shown with the $ sign. One observed sale of a full 150-rubble bag displayed "Sold 150 rubble for $1.50!" — treat that as an example of what a full bag paid in that session, not a confirmed fixed rate for every sale. The money is the same currency you spend in the shop near the grinder, on fist upgrades and tools such as the Sledgehammer.
The repeatable selling loop
Selling is not just a one-time tutorial step. Players keep repeating it through a session — one player narrated gathering rubble, selling it several times, and using the money to buy tools, add power and max out their fists.
The rubble selling loop
Punch walls
Break walls with your fists or tools to scatter rubble.
Collect the rubble
Aim at the pieces and pick them up until your bag is as full as you want.
Sell at the grinder
Empty your bag in the SELL area for money.
Buy upgrades
Spend the money on fist upgrades and tools in the shop.
Stronger fists and tools break walls faster, so each new round of collecting fills your bag sooner — that is how selling rubble keeps feeding your progression.
The more efficiently you break walls and sell, the faster you can afford the upgrades that carry you toward escaping.
